Guestbooks
After every performance, the audience exits into a space where a couple of Guestbooks are laid out. Some people write in them; some don’t. Some send emails which are then taped into the books.
- It's so rare to go out for an evening and feel changed at the end of it – we were totally intrigued and captivated and if the performers had run out to the 401, we would have followed them – Congratulations! (John Hess and partner of Queen of Puddings)
- It was like watching VERY thick syrup drip. I like syrup. And once it would hit the ground – it exploded! The installation was so beautiful and inspiring. What a gorgeous night! I feel tingly all over. You never cease to amaze me. (Lissa)
- My first DNA experience … not sure how to describe what I saw … but very glad I got to see it. (Rob K.)
- A truly one of a kind cosmic performance.
- It was mezmerizing! (Bronnie Barry)
- Truly impressive. (Rosemary Winn)
- I've seen the future … and the future is the installation. (John Delacourt)
- Symphonic variation and scope. (J.D.)
- This was so wonderful. (Rita Davies)
- This was confusing, why why were you so disengaged from everyone, each other? - nice, scary, how dare you? (A. S.)
- Very beautiful – but what does it mean?
- Here's what I want to know – what makes this theatre and not dance? Some beautiful choreography … I love repetition – but I believe some of the bits would have been better shorter. … Thank you for bringing me outdoors and out of my mind.
- Even though I didn't get what was going on, I followed anyways. It was a great performance by all. Loved the costumes. (Cheryl)
- CHAOS – ORDER – BEAUTY – LOVE – TRANQUILITY – SORROW. Thank you Hillar for your strength, courage, and utter beauty. Your vision has allowed me to glimpse PARADOX, the INFINITE … and so much more that I cannot put in words. (Shirley)
- I am very confused … I like the dance … I like the music … I like the persistence … (Milena)
- Breath taking. Full of breath. (James O'Reilly)
- Fascinating. As always – from the sublime to the ridiculous. Tonight – at the park – the little old man and his bicycle – sublime. … ballet excruciatingly beautiful. Had a moment following the phalanx. The crowd was moving after them, I stopped and suddenly I was a stone in a river of people. Meaning is unknown.
- An adventure! (Lara)
- Really meditative, I'm breathing much slower now. (Tom)
- Great fun. (Reid Mowat)
- Very relaxing yet exciting!
- It was altering and beautiful. Everything became a work of art around us. (Patricia O'Callghan)
- Delightfully bewildering.
- Purity, clarity, essence, direction.
- Thank you for transporting me (in more ways than one) (Rosalba Martini)
- Splendid and sublime … (Jules)
- Thanks for the beautiful romp. CONCENTRATION SUPREME – glad to have been made a part. Fabulous performance, good audience! (L.N.)
- Do not fuck with my mind. I never said “GO”. (Jana)
- You were all so intense in what you were doing. I only wish I could have been more a part of it. To see you, I wanted to be you. You were protected by each other. (Maria)
- After the show ended – I was vibrating. (J. D.)
- I loved how everyone around the choreography – the people driving by in their cars, the people outside of restaurants, myself – became an inseparable part of the piece. Very amusing. Thanks for the inspiration. (Jessica)
- More subtle, perhaps more insidious, and less directing impacting that the indoor shows of the Artaud cycle. Might stay with me longer, though. (A. M.)
- Provocative. (Jeff)
- So stunning, I have a headache – the good kind – head / heart / ache. (Michelle P.)
- What a marvellous accident for me – the innocent surprise of suddenly being in centre – everyone was graceful, beautiful, mystifying. (Earl)
- I thought when the flashpots went of … we were all going to be buried under a pile of 133 Bathurst rubble. I always love your work. You know that. Meow. (But Hillar, I miss text!) (Kirsten Johnson)
- Hillar! Once more, you have given me beauty of the sort I love, and only find here. Thank you so much. (Paul)
